Big Ideas For Afterschool , Duluth The St. Louis County Depot (November 15th, 2024)
Join Ignite Afterschool and colleagues from around the Metro to discuss your Big Ideas for Afterschool. Ignite Afterschool is your Statewide Afterschool Network, charged with bringing together afterschool, summer, and youth development professionals to strengthen young people's access to high-quality afterschool programming. It's time to build relationships and chart a shared course to expand access to and improve young people's experience in afterschool. Ignite is holding Big Ideas sessions across the state!
Come to one or come to both, Big Ideas for Afterschool has two segments:
Morning registration 9:30-10:00
Morning Training (10-11:30): Join Ignite Afterschool staff for a training session that provides an overview of youth program quality. It is grounded in the six building blocks in Believe It. Build It. Minnesota's Guide for Effective Afterschool Practices to provide a common language and understanding for program quality. Leave the session with a Believe It. Build It. self-assessment tool that you can use to reflect on the quality of your program.
Afternoon registration & lunch (11:30-12:00)
Afternoon Session (12:00-3:30): Join together in the afternoon to discuss shared opportunities to improve access to afterschool programs across Minnesota while also discussing the challenges that stand in our way. Round table discussions will center on solutions and the shared big ideas will inform strategies that we will work together on as the Ignite Afterschool network for years to come.
