Thinking About Accreditation? You’ve come to the right place.

Ignite’s School Age Care (I-SAC) is Minnesota’s accreditation process for school-age care programs. Accredited programs demonstrate a high level of professionalism, safety and commitment to quality — and that’s good for young people and their families, as well as your staff and your program’s bottom line.

Benefits of Accreditation

The I-SAC Accreditation Process

I-SAC is a 5-Step Process that integrates Believe It. Build It. Minnesota’s Guide to Effective Afterschool Practices with Continuous Program Improvements (CPI). Programs that meet and demonstrate the high quality and professional standards of I-SAC are able to maintain accreditation for years.

  1. Learn about I-SAC Accreditation by previewing the six research-based Building Blocks for Effective Programs (Here)

  2. Commit to the I-SAC Accreditation and Continuous Improvement Process. Applications for the next cycle begin in April each year.*

  3. Participate in 4 targeted coaching sessions with a cohort of colleagues (these sessions are so thought-provoking and helpful!)

  4. Attend a modified M3 workshop with your cohort to create an Improvement Plan specific to your program

  5. Apply for I-SAC Accreditation. Programs seeking accreditation will use the Quality Navigator, which guides programs through the steps to demonstrate proficiency in each of the six Building Blocks, Effective Practices, and Benchmarks. *
