About the Program

Neighborhood House has been helping St. Paul families in need move from “survive” to “thrive” for more than a century. With programs focused on basic needs, family and adult education, youth development and health and well-being, in 2020 Neighborhood House served more than 23,000 people from diverse communities at six locations throughout St. Paul.

Neighborhood House was a recipient of a grant from the Greater Twin Cities United Way's Greater Twin Cities COVID-19 Response & Recovery Fund, which was created to provide immediate support to those who were most vulnerable to difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Part of that effort included Student Support & Family Empowerment Grants awarded to eight non-profit organizations that partnered with local schools to provide basic needs, academic support and mental health resources to students who were disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 disruptions and challenges. These organizations include: Boys and Girls Club Little Earth, Boys and Girls Club Mt. Airy, Centro Tyrone Guzman, Communidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES), Hope Community, Neighborhood House, North Star Network and Wilder Mental Health & Wellness.
