The Afterschool Alliance is the one stop place for all things afterschool. While Afterschool advocacy and policy work is a top priority, they have webinars cementing concepts from all building blocks. While the Blandin Foundation trainings are not specific to youth development, their mission is to strengthen rural Minnesota communities- we all know that's what youth work is all about. Their in-person Community Leadership Trainings could be used as a way for you to think about how your program sits in the whole of your community and of corse they're a space to learn important leadership and community engagement strategies. 

With self-directed web-lessons, staff development guides, and webinars, Click2Science provides resources for both trainers and staff to develop facilitation skills, all through a STEM lens.

As the premier mentoring resource in Minnesota, MENTOR MN is uniquely positioned to work with local organizations to increase their capacity and effectiveness while providing relevant and customized evidence-based training, technical assistance, and support.

MHA Labs is a national youth skills power movement creating easy-to-understand frameworks and tools targeting cross-cultural social, emotional and cognitive skills for education, career and life success. This is the perfect place for any youth practitioner looking for new language and strategies to assist in the development of youth power skills and mindsets. MHA has countless free resources online and produces a low-cost line of engaging products for hand-on experiences. Awesome cards are an all time favorite. 

MnAEYC-MnSACA supports the leadership and development of those working with children ages 0-14 in all types of early childhood and afterschool programs and the agencies and organizations that serve them. They host the largest Annual State Conference in Minnesota for professionals focused on children ages 0-14, as well as smaller, regional training events and series throughout the year, including online. MnAEYC-MnSACA is committed to working with individual programs and staff members to provide tailored coaching, mentoring and training in the primary areas of policy, leadership/professionalism, and quality/best practice. The NAA is the only national afterschool membership association for professionals who work in out of school time. Become a member and access their resources influencing youth work across the country. They publish fresh, new content every week covering a wide variety of topics related to the field of afterschool making for large impact.

NYLC accelerates student achievement in school districts by strengthening academic, civic, and character outcomes through service-learning. We tap into the passion, creativity, and ingenuity of all young people to make meaningful change happen. NYLC offers a variety of paths to reach service-learning excellence through online content, customized professional development, tools, resources, and more. 

This cohort-based professional development opportunity is set up so over the course of (9) months, each fellow will narrow in on a question and explore it though personal research, monthly meetings, a day-long retreat all within the cohort learning community. While this may be a commitment, you’ll walk away with so much more to offer and $500 in your pocket from this stipend project. 

Search Institute is a nonprofit organization that bridges research and practice to help young people be and become their best selves. They work to strengthen youth success in schools, youth programs, families, and communities by listening to young people. They provide insight and education to create change in the lives of youth by working with those who interface with young people. To date, more than 10,000 youth-serving organizations have utilized the research, professional development, and practical resources that Search Institute has created. UMN Extension Center for Youth Development provides everything from in-person workshops and symposia to online courses, self-studies, webinars and podcasts. Their trainings and resources are grounded in the latest research on youth development and provide practical ways to apply learning to your program.

YIPA provides exceptional trainings for youth workers. All trainings are free to YIPA members. Non-members pay a nominal fee per training. While the U.S. Department of Education’s You for Youth (Y4Y) portal was created for 21CCLCs, non-21CCLC programs have access to their website home to a plethora of great online resources. Their training covers topics applicable to all out of school time providers. Areas of training include Continuous Education, Project-Based Learning, Summer Learning, STEM, Family Engagement, College and Career Readiness, Citizen Science, Strengthening Partnership, Literacy, Drug and Alcohol Prevention and more.

Youth Work Learning Lab trainings are led by U of MN Faculty, community youth workers and graduate students from the UMN Master of Education in Youth Development Leadership. They offer in-person trainings that are open to the public as well as the opportunity to do private consulting, where they’ll bring their trainings to you, catering to your direct needs.
